EAC is excited to share in celebrating PRIDE this year by joining the Downeast Rainbow Alliance virtually for a Special Edition of their Monthly Craft Circle. “This will be a virtual time for LGBTQ+ Community & Allies to get together, make, giggle and support one another,” said organizer, Anne Shields Hopkins. “We encourage the magic that sparks when people of all ages come together.” Find details here.
EAC hosted a PRIDE ice cream social and dance party as part of last year’s inaugural Downeast Pride Festival, and is happy to be involved with the virtual celebration this year.

Sighted while on the Eastport ArtWalk, this neighbor at Mary Anderson & Bill Johnson’s house is sporting a smart PRIDE-rainbow cap—you could make yourself something just like this during craft time! Then, head out on the ArtWalk to show off your look. (More info, and an updated map, for the ArtWalk here). Photo by Anne Shields Hopkins.
Elizabeth Ostrander and Rachel Bell were among the revellers who enjoyed the Beach Trash show at EAC’s 2019 Downeast Pride Festival ice cream social and dance party, part of a slate of county-wide events organized by Downeast Rainbow Alliance.

Individuals and businesses with are still welcome to join the project, and should email Joan Lowden at joan@basslady.com to arrange to be listed on the map (available here). Downeast Rainbow Alliance has a slate of virtual events planned for June 13, and the Pride themed window galleries will be on view all month. Information about upcoming ArtWalk events may be found at https://facebook.com/EastportArtWalk, or by following this site.

Sandy River, Beach Trash’s lead singer, and Joe Horvath will give a special performance at the PRIDE-themed Zoom on Saturday. Not your typical Saturday morning mood! Can’t wait to hear what they’ll share.
