The University of Maine at Machias (UMM) will host an outdoor drum circle/percussion jam session on Fridays at 3 pm, near the sculpture on the lawn below Powers Hall.  Social distancing and mask wearing will be in effect, with instruments placed at least 6’ apart; this will be in compliance with University of Maine system and state COVID-19 guidelines.  These events are free and open to the public; again, masks must be worn.

Gene Nichols of the University of Maine at Machias music faculty will host an open drum circle on the UMM campus each Friday afternoon that weather permits.

UMM opened its Fall 2020 semester Monday, August 31 for a mix of live and online classes. Alan Kryszak will be teaching MUS 112, a new online music history class, with video content prepared and performed by the instructor. Gene Nichols will be offering private lessons, either live or online.
