Artist Meg McGarvey has launched a fundraiser for Eastport Arts Center and Peavey Memorial Library with her latest creation: sea-themed ornaments with sea glass, mussel and periwinkle shells. “This is a project that I wanted to pursue, as a way of helping fund the EAC and the Peavey during these difficult times. Making these ornaments is a great joy for me. I get to walk the beaches collecting mussel shells and periwinkles and then have the fun of creating the ornaments. They’re a real labor of love.“
For the sale of each box of three ornaments, $20 will be split between EAC and Peavey library. “We currently have over 70 boxed sets available,” notes Meg. “Each ornament comes with a decorative swirl hanger. They would make lovely Christmas gifts or [could be used] as window decorations any time of the year.”
The ornaments are available for purchase via The Commons Eastport’s online store.
