Attracting more than 50 students, with several double- or even triple-dipping by attending more than one of the series’ workshops, EAC’s Festival of Ornaments allowed many community members to spend meaningful time together while making handcrafted ornaments. Presented via Zoom November 29 through December 13, the workshop trio—Tassel Tree Garland with Sara Myrick, Scandinavian Star Ornaments with Ann Cannizzaro and Painted Shell Ornaments with Sue Riddle—was attended by crafters coast to coast, with folks Zooming in from California, Vermont, New York and Brunswick, Maine, as well as closer to our EAC home in Alexander, Calais, Eastport, Lubec, Machiasport, Pembroke, Perry, Robbinston and Whiting.
We’ve collected an array of photos and two recap videos to share a peek at the fun; please note too that our KinderArts Craft Along video for December, Cinnamon Dough Ornaments, is available to watch anytime, with dough recipe and tips in the post alongside the video link.
Thanks to the Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation for supporting this series, and thanks to Stephanie Higgins and James O’Neil, Lubec residents, for providing music for the two recap videos!

Check out this short video which compiles ‘inside the Zoom’ clips from all three workshops!
In this video, instructor Sue Riddle, Zoom-teaching from EAC, is shown alongside her student, Mary Anderson, who submitted footage of her artwork done at home.
Fynn and Parker Bailey paint while watching EAC Video’s Craft Along with Nia: Cinnamon Dough Ornaments. The boys’ ornaments are shown below.
