Gallery member Peesh Rewak McClanahan is this week’s featured artist as the Eastport Gallery winds up the final week of their online Winter Show featuring many of Peesh’s whimsical works along with works by 14 artist members.

Peesh, a member of the Gallery for 10 years, made Maine her home in 1969 and now divides her time between Bath and Eastport. Says Peesh, “My work has been described as playful, colorful, moody, loose and experimental. I paint often and enjoy trying new techniques. When I was a child I loved mixing concoctions… I made ink from berries and created new colors from my mother’s lipsticks and nail polishes. How lucky I am to still be able to delight in the same sorts of basic pleasures. This is not to say that I don’t take art seriously. I paint with a Plein Air group and have benefited by taking comprehensive classes. I plan to paint until the very end…”
