This week’s featured Eastport Gallery artist is Shelley Weber. According to Gallery president Joan Lowden, “Shelley has been an invaluable resource since joining the gallery, as treasurer, web-designer, event photographer – you name it.“ As an artist, Shelley is equally comfortable in a variety of mediums, earning her degree in Studio Art with a minor in Art History, primarily training in silver-smithing and photography. She has a history with pastels, and a love for color. However, for a long time she worked in black and white with graphite as her main medium for hyper-real drawings and portraits. She began to paint in 2015, moving away from the physically demanding realism of her tightly rendered drawings. She has been teaching herself acrylics, and revisiting watercolor and gouache, which she has tinkered with quite a bit over the years. The gallery is grateful to be able to share all of Shelley’s many talents.

The Eastport Gallery at 109 Water Street will open for the season on June 5 with our annual community show. We look forwarded to welcoming you in-person to the Gallery.
