Please join internationally-published haiku poet and haiga artist Catherine J.S. Lee at Eastport Arts Center for a two-session workshop on writing haiku and creating photo-haiga (an image-plus-haiku art form). Participants will learn some haiku basics and will practice them at the workshop and between the sessions, which will be held Fridays, July 30th and August 6th, from 1:30 to 3 pm.
Catherine J.S. Lee’s haiku have been published widely and won numerous awards, including her haiku collection, All That Remains, which won the 2010 Turtle Light Press Haiku Chapbook Competition. She has led haiku workshops in local schools, at Sunrise Senior College of the University of Maine at Machias, and at the Haiku Circle in Northfield, Massachusetts. Lee was named an “emerging voice in English-language haiku” in A New Resonance 7 from Red Moon Press, the foremost haiku publisher in the U.S. She edited and designed A Splash of Water, the 2015 Haiku Society of America members’ anthology.
