“It’s time to be gathering shells, beach glass, driftwood, feathers and dried flora,” notes Marged Higginson, organizer of EAC’s Festival of Trees. “These are the natural wonders from Down East that your creativity can turn into decorated trees to auction at the 12th annual Festival of Trees. Perhaps you saved the painted shells and Scandinavian ornaments you made at the workshops last December? The arts center provides the trees but you all catch the falling stars to hang on them.”

Handmade ornaments graced Bonnie Stuart’s ‘Nature’s Gifts’ tree, a past Festival favorite. Photo, and photo below, by Robin Farrin.

“Circle December 11th on your calendar for the auction of the 25 decorated table-top trees to help keep the EAC’s lights on through the winter. The evening of December 10th will be a fun night of decorating the trees for those who prefer to decorate on-site. At this point in time, plans are contingent on the Delta variant and CDC rules.”

“Ah. I feel cooler already. Contact margedhigginson11@gmail.com if you wish one of the 25 decorator spots.”
