Many members of EAC constituent group Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra collaborated in the creation of their contribution to this year’s Festival of Trees, ‘Tools of the Trade.’

The sculptural ‘Tools of the Trade’ features bold decorations upcycled from music and musical instruments, with a music stand ‘spine’ and a violin base. A bonus treat is a ticket for a PBSO concert dangling amidst the rest!
‘Tools of the Trade’ will be displayed among the dazzling forest of tabletop trees available for the highest bidder at the 12th annual Festival of Trees, Saturday, December 11, 4:30-5:30 pm, at Eastport Arts Center. Additional information about the festival may be found here,  https://eastportartscenter.org/tag/festival-of-trees/, or at the event page: https://eastportartscenter.org/event/12th-annual-eac-festival-of-trees/.

“Thanks to PBSO musicians for donated items and support, and to Vermont Philharmonic for collaborative support,” writes PBSO cellist and tree construction team coordinator Ellen Krajewski. “Special thanks to the creative genius of Nancy Asante and June Gregory, Philip Krajewski, Vinca Krajewski, and Drew Proctor, who worked to assemble the tree. Hats off to Elaine Stasny, VT Phil oboeist,  who donated her treasure trove of used oboe reeds, now the tree topper, in true holiday spirit.”
“In addition, there are a number of people who donated or traded materials for the tree. Alice Schuth (violin) and Ann Leaver (viola) donated items, along with June Gregory (flute), Nancy Asante (flute), Elaine Stasny, Reyndell Stockman (bassoon) and me. Greg Biss traded two old music stands for two new stands (we used old stands to construct the tree).
