The Second Annual Hearts for the Arts online auction—with more than 150 heart-themed artworks by more than 40 community artists—includes paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts and more. In addition, a window display of 50 works from the show by local artists is currently on view at 74 Water Street (next door to Sweeties Downeast).
Proceeds of the auction benefit the 2022 ArtWalk Passport weekends, set for June 24-26 and August 5-7. The Passport weekends aim to encourage all to make Downeast Maine an art destination, with a lineup of gallery visits, live music, dancing, storytelling, films, interactive art experiences and more in Eastport on Fridays and Saturdays, with an option to take the ferry to Lubec for live music on Sundays. New for 2022 will be an outdoor contra dance with live band and caller in June and a Mermaid Parade in August.
