The Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra announces two changes to its earlier 2022 spring schedule announcement. For its June 3, 4, and 5 concerts the PBSO will perform César Franck’s
Symphony in D Minor instead of the previously planned Tchaikovsky symphony.
While realizing that there is a difference between Russian culture and Russian politics, PBSO has nevertheless decided to exclude Russian music from its programming for the time being. This decision represents both the orchestra’s intense opposition to the ongoing barbarism of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as well as its strong support for the Ukrainian people and their country.
Second, PBSO rehearsals are now held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This time change has been made to avoid late night travel for the musicians, some of whom travel for two hours or more each way for PBSO rehearsals. The next March rehearsal dates are March 17, 24 and 31. New musicians are always welcome.
