The first in EAC’s 3-part series of free Open Mics sponsored by the First National Bank was held on March 19. The event has been missed during its two year Covid hiatus; it’s return featured a warm audience and varied performers. Organizer Alison Brennan commented on the “appreciative audience who welcomed the chance to participate or attend as support for their performing friend.”
Emcee Mark Macey began the evening with his tale of a recent hike, and was followed by a gripping K2 short story written and read by Catherine J. S. Lee.

Next on the lineup was Jnana Modson who shared original poetry; also sharing verse was Dru Meloche with pleasing poems of Downeast Maine.  Interspersed between the spoken words were performances by musicians Steve Grannis, Brian Mozeliak and John Hylas Smith; Smith’s set included humorous autobiographical tales!

EAC Open Mics are held downstairs at the center. The next in the series will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 6-8 pm.

Thanks to L. Elwood for photographing the event!
