Palaver Strings, who first appeared at EAC in 2019 during their ‘Welcome Home’ tour, will return with a new show, ‘Welcome Here,’ on Sunday May 1 at 3 pm. The Portland-based chamber orchestra’s latest production celebrates Maine’s cultural diversity, resilience, and stewardship with a multidisciplinary performance featuring guest artists of Congolese, Puerto Rican, and Wabankai heritage, and storytelling directed by Sherri Mitchell. The tour, co-presented by the Abbe Museum, Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, and Indigo Arts Alliance, will include stops in Caribou, Rockport, Bar Harbor, Portland, Farmington and Lewiston, as well as the performance in Eastport.
