EAC’s Summer Workshop Series continues Meri Fern’s Upcycled Mosaic Frames on Tuesday, July 5 from 1:30-3:30 pm. Participants will use collected sea treasures and upcycled finds, incorporating favorite items brought from home if they wish, to make a mosaic frame to display.
Fern is a mixed media mosaic artist from Lubec. She uses upcycled materials for all of her one-of-a-kind pieces which include garden slabs, picture frames, mirrors, birdhouses and more. She maintains a year-round studio at 743 North Lubec Road, and is open by appointment or chance.
The session is intended for ages 12 and up; younger children may participate in this session with an accompanying caregiver. A $20 fee covers all materials; a sliding fee scale is available by request. Pre-registration is required; please email Alison Brennan at alison@eastportartscenter.org. Space is very limited, so please register early to save a place. Support for this workshop has been provided by Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.
Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport and eastportartscenter.org, and is handicapped-accessible. EAC abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, patrons are required to wear masks when in the EAC building.
