The Eastport & Lubec ArtWalk is proud that the Eastport Arts Center is our “Partner in Art”. The upcoming mermaid-themed ArtWalk weekend is jam-packed with creativity and fun, including several visual and performing arts events hosted by the Eastport Arts Center. On Friday at 7 pm, violist Anne Black and friends will present “A Timely Adventure”, including the world premiere of John Newell’s Pieces of Time, at the Arts Center. More information, and advance tickets (also available at the door) here.

On Saturday KinderArts with Nia will host mermaid face painting on Water Street from noon to 4 pm. The surprise hit of last year’s ArtWalks, Stage East’s Canned Sardine StorySlam returns to the Amphitheater from 2-3 pm. (Sign up to tell a tale, or read more here). All are invited back to the Arts Center afterwards for the opening reception of artist Sheryl Denbo’s Evolving Perceptions at the Center’s Washington Street Gallery, from 3-5 pm (more info here). At 5 pm, revellers may cross the street to the Arts Center parking lot to join the First Annual Mermaid parade.
