A Summer Arts Camp will be offered for students ages 6-13, on July 11, 12, 14 and 15, 9:30 am-noon each day, at Eastport Arts Center. Instructors Sara Myrick, art, and L. Elwood, movement, will base activities on a ‘Kindness to Our Environment’ theme. Myrick’s craft instruction will focus on using natural materials and found objects and creatively repurposing items found at home. Projects will include bug and bee hotels, pressed plant silhouette images, Leaf Man designs, nature masks, seed bombs, a nature sketchbook and more. Inspired by the art activities and how nature moves, Elwood will lead children in movement play, feeling the energy of the natural world.
Arts Camp fee is $10/day per student, or $35 for all four days; snacks and all art materials are included. A sliding fee scale is available by request. Pre-registration is required; please email Alison Brennan at alison@eastportartscenter.org. Space is very limited, so please register early to save a place.
