EAC Video was thrilled to the toes to experience Roochie Toochie & the Ragtime Shepherd Kings for the second time at Eastport Arts Center (!!) in September 2021, and captured the Aroostook-to-Nashville/Detroit/New Orleans-based group on stage. Here are the gang’s renditions of “Tiger Rag” by the Original Dixieland Jass Band (1917); “CockaDoodle I’m Off My Noodle (My Baby’s Back)” by Al Sherman, Charles Tobias, & Howard Johnson (1926); and “Coast of Maine”, from an original record by Dick Curless (1965), and presented as part of a (wildly entertaining) historical music project in cooperation with the Maine Bicentennial Commission. In addition, check out the group’s hilarious fake ads given from the stage for Lobster Perfume and Decoy Truck.

Roochie Toochie & The Ragtime Shepherd Kings are Matt Bell, guitar; Timmy Findlen, ukulele; Joel Jackson, guitar; Lindsay McCaw, fiddle and Joy Patterson, percussion. Taylor Williams is featured in these videos as ‘Lovely Assistant.’

The group’s summer 2022 Maine tour includes stops in North Haven Island on August 13 and Peaks Island on August 15, with a free show at Gouldsboro Town Park on Thursday, August 11.
