Go, cats, go! The ornaments pictured below, handmade by new EAC Executive Director Meg Colbert and her husband, Will Lopez, were a 2021 project; the pair are planning a complete set of hand-painted cat-theme ornaments for this year’s Festival of Trees.
Also pictured, atop this page and below, are a Halloween sign painted for Meg and Will’s Eastport neighbors, the Weavers, plus a peek at the couple’s mailbox!

Meg writes: “As someone who enjoys framing my crafting projects around holidays, I am so excited to be able to be present and participate in EAC’s wonderful Festival of Trees tradition, and look forward to enjoying its special holiday pageantry for years to come! I mostly do illustration and holiday-themed projects for fun (like a red velvet-lined vampire coffin [Nos~purr~atu] that I made for my cat for Halloween).”

What will you create during these autumnal days, gathering materials when skies are clear, and enjoyably crafting when the weather suggests that you stay in?
We can’t wait to find out—at the 13th Annual Festival of Trees, a jovial gathering amidst a forest of sparkling trees, lovingly decorated by EAC community members and available for bid,  held on Saturday, December 10.

Please watch for more inspiration from past festivals and glimpses of decorations in progress as December nears. Questions about the festival may be sent to margedhigginson11@gmail.com.
