In a city that celebrates mermaids, salmon, sardines and even mythical pirates, why not keep your eyes peeled for unicorns? In the quiet after the storm of swarthy buccaneers and wild wenches, you might take a peek into the peaceful rooms of Eastport Gallery and find some magic. Amidst the stunning portraits by Brenda Gay, scenic vistas by Helena Bosse, JoAnne Houlsen and Alice Chen, woodland scenes by Courtney Moore and colorful abstracts by Anne Black you might even find a unicorn! Or you might find a great pair of “wearable art” earrings by Kelle Bates Erikson! You could even find a very portable print to take home and treasure. But you’ll have to look soon for that unicorn, because the wire taxidermy of Alison Ross goes fast! That’s a hint if you are looking for a unicorn in one of these photos!

The Gallery is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm and closed on select Tuesdays and Wednesdays. To learn about more upcoming events and to view the Gallery’s current virtual show as well as Paint Eastport, Part Deux Online (until September 18), visit eastportgallery.com.

P.S. There are more member-artist works to be seen there, but the sentences just got awkward. Come see for yourself!
