Stage East’s first Play-by-Play series of the 2022-2023 season will take famed English playwright William Shakespeare as its subject. The course will be held on Tuesdays from 6-9 pm, October 25, November 15, December 13 and January 17, and will include readings and a helpful study guide covering the background and themes of each work. Participants are welcome to play a part during the readings or simply to listen and discuss. Participants will study A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julius Caesar, Othello, and The Winter’s Tale. Classes will take place at Eastport Arts Center. Registration is available at stageeast.org/register.

Lord Chamberlain’s Men, a theater company which performed much of Shakespeare’s work, play for Queen Elizabeth and her court. 

Stage East is a constituent group of Eastport Arts Center, where creativity and community meet, at 36 Washington Street, Eastport and eastportartscenter.org. The EAC is handicapped-accessible, and abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, the EAC recommends that people wear masks when in our building.
