Ann Cannizzaro and Fran McLean led EAC’s annual Ornament Making Workshop on November 6 at the Arts Center. A full house of 15 participants included a family of mother, sister, daughter and grandmother from the Machias area and also participants visiting from Woodstock New Brunswick, Perry, Pembroke and Eastport. Attendees created an array of handmade and painted seaside ornaments meant for trees, mobiles or window décor. The crafters were also able to indulge in sweet and savory foods and a spiced cider punch.

“My daughter, knowing I enjoy creating things, signed me up for the Ornaments Workshop,” wrote Janet Caldwell, who was visiting Eastport from her native Woodstock, New Brunswick during the workshop weekend. “I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and learning to work with shells, sea glass, new painting techniques and ideas. There was a great turnout, lots of chatting and fun. Many thanks to the friendly instructors.”
