Stage East will begin a new session of Children’s Theater Workshop on Saturday, January 14. The program will run Saturdays, 10:30 am-12:30 pm, through February 11th. In this session fierce debate will ensue! Topics like cats vs. dogs, best ice cream flavors, and weirdest siblings will provide fodder for these short scenes written by participants with help from instructor, Mark Macey.
“Part of the fun of writing with the kids is giving them autonomy. They get a say in what they do on stage,” says Macey. “My job is to make sure they have the support and structure they need so that they can enjoy that level of freedom.”
A performance will take place after the final session, at 1 pm, February 11. The group will meet at Eastport Arts Center; registration is available at stageeast.org/register. Please contact markspencermacey@gmail.com with questions or comments.
Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport and eastportartscenter.org, and is handicapped-accessible. The EAC abides by the State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, the EAC recommends that people wear masks when in our building.
