Eastport Gallery member artists are offering a series of workshops through the Eastport Arts Center. The Artist Teaching Artist series is intended to encourage the “artist” that lives in all of us. Or maybe help us find the alternative artist within as we explore new ideas, mediums and processes. The workshops cover a variety of topics from clay and collage to video and brush lettering, and more classes are expected to be added during the season.
First up is Marlys Farn-Guillette’s pottery class on April 1. Participants will craft a clay tile and then choose a finishing technique which includes an option for raku firing. Raku is a centuries-old Japanese style of pottery resulting in stunning finishes caused by the unique firing technique. For more details on her class visit the event page here:
