With ever-engaging Sara Myrick at the helm, February Break Arts Camp brought a group of students in from a cloudy and chill day to imaginary verdant landscapes and encouraged their experimentation with a wide variety of materials and techniques. Sara opened the session, which drew participants from Eastport, Pembroke, Robbinston, Alexander and Columbia, with images and discussion of the world depicted in the Avatar films. She reviewed the goodies on the materials table, demonstrated a few suggested construction techniques, and then opened up the session for students to go their own ways. The gallery below shows students at work and with some of their creations, and a bonus piano performance by one artist. Photos by EAC’s Alison Brennan and Lauren Koss.
