Eastport Arts Center will offer an Introduction to Brush Lettering with Alison Brynn Ross on Tuesday, July 18 from 1-3 pm. Participants will learn skills to make any lettering project extra special—from scrapbooks to greeting cards and more. Beginning with brush pen strokes and letter forms, using practice sheets created by Ross, each student will have an opportunity for personal instruction. The session, which is for ages 12 and up, will include many helpful hints from Alison, who’ll also provide links for further exploration online.
Each student will receive a dual-tip Tombow Brush Pen in jade green, a packet including various practice sheets, tracing paper, a lined sheet for practice lettering, and two blank cards and envelopes for the creation of custom greeting cards. Brush Lettering is for ages 12 and up. Space is limited.
Alison Brynn Ross is a graphic designer, sculptor, illustrator, sign painter, and muralist living in Pembroke with her husband Dave.  Using her diverse creative background, Alison enjoys creative problem solving and using art as a way to create and connect with the community.  She is the Vice President at Eastport Gallery.  To learn more about Alison visit her website: https://www.alisonbrynnross.com.

Next in the Summer Workshop Series will be Beeswax Candles with Arlene Wren, on July 25 from 1-3 pm. Participants will create hand-rolled candles from embossed beeswax sheets, cutting each sheet and their candle wick, then warming the wax with a hair dryer prior to rolling the desired candle shape—pillar or spiral. The workshop is for ages 12 and up; younger children may participate with an adult helper.
Wren’s love of bees and honey-making inspired her to learn this technique. A rug-braider, Reiki Master and beekeeper, Wren with her husband, Mark, owns Wrenovations, a Down East business which ranges from stained glass artwork to small-batch preservative-free personal care items.
