Eastport Arts Center’s Summer Workshop Series will continue in August with varied projects to inspire all types of crafters and artists. On Tuesday, August 8, Sara Myrick led a session on Upcycled Bottle Art. On, Tuesday, August 15, Audra Christie taught Beginners’ Wet Felting. The series concludes on August 22, when from 1-3 pm, Ann Cannizzaro will reprise her popular Zentangle workshop, “A Mindful Approach to Creativity and Flow”. Participants will learn Zentangle, a popular drawing method for all skill levels. Using a simple eight-step process, attendees will create their own miniature masterpieces while learning about ‘tangles’, ‘tiles’, and ‘strings’. Zentangle has many devotees who’ve enjoyed journeys of discovery and creative flow through drawing.

All workshops are intended for students age 12 and up. Younger children may participate with an adult helper for the August 8 session; children age 10 and up may participate with an accompanying adult for the August 15 and 22 sessions. All materials are included, and workshop fee is $20/person. A sliding fee scale (pay what you can) is available by request. To sign up, or with any questions about the workshops, please email nicole@eastportartscenter.org.
Support for this series has been provided by Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.
