Professional drummer Noel Brennan will lead a drum circle on Sunday, August 20, 6-7 pm, at Eastport Arts Center. Beginning to advanced drummers will experience the joy of language-based drumming in a group format. Material will include drum compositions from Senegal and India, as well as grooves from the west/USA. Brennan will share some of what he has learned during his educational travels in India and Los Angeles, and from his experiences as a drummer in New York City.
The session is for ages 14 and up, with a $10 fee per participant. A sliding fee scale (pay what you can) is available by request. Djembes will be provided, so space is limited. To register, please email Nicole at nicole@eastportartscenter.org. If you have your own djembe, please let the Center know when you register so that more students can participate.

Robbinston native and current resident of Brooklyn NY, Noel Brennan is an active percussionist/electronic musician. Also known as Arktuteye, Noel has participated in and won multiple turntablism battles as well as maintaining his connection with ancient language-based drum concepts and connecting it with an electronic sensibility.
