Eastport Arts Center’s next Open Mic will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 6-8 pm. The event, which has been recurring since January 2023, has become very popular and includes a lively mix of 10-minute music and spoken word acts. An array of snacks and hot beverages are provided in a casual coffeehouse-style atmosphere. Those interested in performing may sign up at the event for a slot, 10 minutes maximum; shorter acts are also very welcome. A limited number of slots for participants with special needs will be reserved for advance signup. Please send any inquiries by email to info@eastportartscenter.org. Admission and refreshments are free; donations will be gratefully accepted.

The January 12th event will be sponsored by John Smith Books and The Christina Gallery, 26 Washington Street, Eastport, Maine. Owners John and Christina welcome folks to drop by and visit anytime. The bookstore has more than 6,000 books, used and like new, spread over 3 floors for visitors’ browsing enjoyment. The Christina Gallery, next to the bookstore library, features an array of artwork ranging from multimedia to watercolor and acrylic, as well as a display of arts and crafts featuring embroidered wall hangings, quilts, fabric art, personalized pillows, handbags, shirts, and ornaments.
