EAC Films offers a recent biopic for their next screening. Chronicling the life of star singer Aretha Franklin, Respect (2021, PG-13) will be shown at 2 pm and 6 pm, Sunday, May 19. Distributor Swank Films synopsizes as follows: Following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a young child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom. Respect is the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice and become the Queen of Soul. Notable cast members are Jennifer Hudson, Forest Whitaker, Audra McDonald, Saycon Sengbloh and Hailey Kilgore.

Admission for EAC Films screenings is $7. Attendees age 17 & under will be admitted free of charge to G, PG and PG-13 films, but must be accompanied by an adult. EAC Films screenings have been supported by a Maine Community Foundation Community Building Grant. EAC Films, in accordance with MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) guidelines, utilizes the movie ratings system.
