April Break Arts Camp: Postal Art with Sue Riddle

Wednesday, April 17 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

EAC will offer an April break week Arts Camp on Wednesday, April 17. Popular instructor Sue Riddle’s creative session on mailable art will begin the Camp, from 1-3 pm. Participants will learn about making small mailable works of art with a variety of different media—collage, printing, painting, Washi tape, and more—and will get to choose stamps and send cards out from Eastport on the day of the session. Attendees will also get a visit from an Eastport post office employee, who’ll stop by to deliver example cards mailed to the center in the week prior to the event.

The workshop is intended for students ages 12 and up. Children 10 to 12 years of age may participate with an adult helper/companion. A $5 fee includes all supplies, some postage, and snacks. Please note: this event will be followed by a Music Chat and Mini Concert with pianist Danny Holt, for children ages 10 and up, and their families and friends, from 3:30-4:30 pm.

Space is limited; those who’d like their child to participate are asked to email lauren@eastportartscenter.org to register.

Originally from San Francisco, Sue Riddle is a popular instructor at both EAC and Peavey Memorial Library. She has dabbled in ceramics, field sketching, birding, cartooning, bookselling, letter arts, yarn spinning, chicken husbandry, and homemade maple syrup. Her paint pouring, decoupage, shell painting and eclectic sip ‘n’ paint events have been EAC workshop highlights. This session has been supported by The Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.
