Eastport Arts Center’s Children’s Theater Workshop (CTW) will begin a new session on Saturday, January 11. The group will meet from 10-11:30 am, and be held weekly on Saturdays. Led by Mark Macey with assistance from Chris Grannis, the group will introduce young people to theater arts, including an array of theater games and exercises. The group will discuss interest in a possible production for this spring at EAC.
CTW is free for participants, and open to children aged 7 to 17. Children younger than age 7 should be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
Macey is a performance and theater artist who works across disciplines. A graduate of Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater, he also holds a BA in Theater Studies from the University of Utah. He is currently the Island Fellow for EAC and Stage East. Grannis is Director of EAC, and has a long history in theater arts. She has a special penchant for stage and prop design, and recently directed and produced CTW’s Of Kings and Coconuts, a quirky comedy inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
For more information about the group, please email Grannis at chris@eastportartscenter.org.
