Children’s Theater Workshop Summer Session

July 14, 2021 @ 10:30 am 12:30 pm

Eastport Arts Center embarks on its first-ever summer session of Children’s Theater Workshop on Wednesday July 14th from 10:30 am-12:30 pm. Each week through August 18th, participants from ages 7 to 18* can join in to play theater games, build skills on stage, and learn the ins-and-outs of improvisation and sketch comedy. The workshop will culminate in a short performance for participants’ families during the final class.

Mark Macey, who taught last year’s CTW before being interrupted by the pandemic, will lead this summer’s workshop as well. “I’m excited to be back in the theater, and I hope many of last year’s participants will join us to make up for our lost time together.”

Lauren “El” Elwood, EAC’s new intern, will co-teach the class. A recent theatre and dance graduate from Oberlin College, Lauren is looking forwarded to participating. “For ages I have been so excited to move to Eastport and work here at the Arts Center, and now I can’t wait to get back to one of my favorite things — teaching theater and movement!”

CDC guidelines will be followed. This workshop is offered free of cost. Please email mark@eastportartscenter.org for more information. *Students younger than 7 are welcome to participate if an adult caregiver is also in attendance.
