Eastport Arts Center’s Summer Workshop Series, which features offerings on summer Tuesdays from 1-3 pm, continues with The Art of Bread Making on July 17, a workshop for ages 10 and up with Steve Grannis. Attendees will enjoy learning about the simple ingredients that form the foundation of all breads, and working with Steve’s favorite dough to create their own loaves. Grannis, a Pembroke resident, has been baking a basic bread since the 1970s, and notes that one simple recipe can provide many possible uses. “Having fresh bread daily is my motivation,” he says.
Upcoming workshops in the series are: July 24, Quilts of the Underground Railroad with Lane Willey, ages 8 and up; July 31, Playful Painting with Fern Hilyard, all ages; August 7, Introduction to Playing Ukulele with Eustacia Landrum, ages 8 and up; August 14, Mixed-media Jewelry with Sara Myrick, ages 8 and up; August 21, Pop-up Cards with Jo Smith, ages 6 and up.
