Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert Series
June 16, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra (PBSO) concludes its spring season with three performances: Friday, June 15 at 7:00 P.M. at the Eastport Arts Center; Saturday, June 16 at 3:00 P.M. at the Centre Street Congregational Church, Machias; and Sunday, June 17 at 3:00 P.M. at the Calais Congregational Church.
The program opens with a piece commissioned for the PBSO by Roberto Pace, a performer and composer who teaches composition at Drexel University in Philadelphia and Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey and who works at Summerkeys in Lubec.
W.A. Mozart’s Concerto in G for Flute follows, with soloist Krista Kwon. Dr. Kwon plays in the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, teaches at the University of Maine, Augusta, Husson University and Colby College.
The program concludes with Franz Schubert’s majestic Symphony #4 in C Minor (Tragic).
The PBSO is a constituent member of the Eastport Arts Center and provides an arena in which musicians meet, learn, develop skills and enjoy performing together. Bringing classical music to Washington County and New Brunswick, the orchestra is conducted by its Music Director Trond Saeverud and Assistant Conductor Gregory Biss.
A $15.00 donation is suggested for adults; admission for students is free. Nobody will be turned away.
