Quoddy Voices has decided to hold a “virtual” season this fall with weekly get togethers and rehearsals via the Zoom platform. The group will work on putting together a few “virtual choir” projects. These involve singers learning (through online rehearsals) and then recording their parts, which will be assembled into a video choral performance. 
The group’s initial meetings and information sessions will be held via Zoom on two Mondays: September 14 and 21 at 7 pm. Singers will learn about the process and become prepared to participate in rehearsals each Monday thereafter. They will be provided audio practice tracks and the printed music will be provided digitally.   

“Group singing has been identified as one of the most potentially dangerous activities during the COVID-19 pandemic,” noted John Newell, Quoddy Voices’ Music Director. “Choral groups have spent months deliberating how to continue to allow members to sing together in these trying times. University, school, community and church choirs are taking a variety of approaches.”
All community members are welcome to join Quoddy Voices for the fall virtual season. In fact, we anticipate the involvement of singers who may not have been able to participate in the past.
