Eastport Arts Center’s weekly traditional music jam, Roaring Jelly East, will resume for a 6-week session, from 4:30-6:00 pm on Sundays, October 8-November 12. The group is a gaggle of musicians of all ages who love to play traditional tunes of Maine, Maritime Canada, and the British Isles: jigs, reels, waltzes, marches, airs, laments, hornpipes, and the like. We welcome players of all levels of experience on fiddles, mandolins, guitars, dulcimers, flutes, recorders, whistles, percussion, and just about anything else. “If you can play or dance, or just stomp and clap, we invite you to join us for a good time. It’s all for the fun of it,” says organizer Rob McCall. All these tunes are tried and true, very danceable, and they stick in your head. Furthermore, all tunes are taught and sheet music is available. For more information, please contact McCall at 853-9578 or email@example.com.
