Summer Workshop Series: The Art of Bread Making with Chris & Steve Grannis

August 11, 2020 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

Reprising a popular past Summer Workshop Series offering, Chris and Steve Grannis, via Zoom, will teach attendees how to make a simple dough that forms the foundation of many breads, and to create their own pita, pizza, cinnamon buns or just plain bread.
The Grannises are Pembroke residents, and have been baking bread since the 1970’s, exploring their versatile recipe that deliciously works for many possible uses.  “Having fresh bread daily is my motivation,” says Steve.

Check out Steve’s techniques here while listening to his band, Keltic Schmeltic!

All ingredients, including organic Maine-grown whole wheat flour, white flour, yeast, oil and salt will be provided.  You’ll need to provide your own lukewarm water, bowl, clean kitchen towel and a warm place for the dough to rise.

This workshop is intended for ages 10 to adult. A $10 registration fee will be charged for materials (sliding fee scale is offered).

Please preregister by Saturday, August 8, by emailing registration name, phone number and address to alison@eastportartscenter.orgMaterials kits will be available for pick up* at Eastport Arts Center on Monday, August 10 from 10 am to 1 pm, or contact Alison for an alternate time/place.
