Sunday Afternoons at the EAC: “House Plants for a Healthy Home” with Paula Kovecses

The Sunday Afternoons at the EAC series, a winter offering of informal and interactive programs every Sunday at 3 pm at Eastport Arts Center, continues March 31 with “House Plants for a Healthy Home” by Paula Kovecses. Attendees will learn about houseplants and their many benefits for our health, which houseplants will do well in our homes, and how to care for the plants. Discussion will include orchids, snake plant (mother-in-law’s tongue), ficus, peace lily, pothos, dracaena, jade, cactus/succulents, aloe, begonia (tuberous) and spider plants.

Kovecses has a degree in Horticulture from UNH and is an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional and owner of The Way It Grows LLC (TWIG) an organic sustainable landscaping company that offers consults, designs, installations and maintenance. Kovecses has more than thirty years in the landscaping industry and lectures on both organic gardening and permaculture.

Sunday Afternoons at the EAC programs are held downstairs at the EAC. Hot drinks and refreshments are offered; donations are gratefully accepted.
