Vacation Week Arts Camp: Remarkable Reptiles!

EAC will offer Remarkable Reptiles, a Vacation Week Arts Camp, on Wednesday, February 17 and Thursday, February, 18, with popular instructors Sara Myrick and Ann Cannizzaro. The camp, held via Zoom from 10 to 11 am each day, will offer an array of hands-on activities, including accordion snakes, dazzling lizards and slotted turtles. Projects are designed for participants ages 6-13, and materials kits will be available through EAC.Arts Camp registration must be in by February 13; please contact alison@eastportartscenter.org to register and arrange for materials pickup. Space is limited, and there is a materials fee of $5 per student. Those who’ll use their own materials should contact Alison for a supplies list; no fee will be charged. Participants are encouraged to participate after the programs by sending photos of their projects to Alison via the email address above.
Ann Cannizzaro is an educator with 30+ years in public education. She earned her Bachelor’s in Art Education from the University of Vermont, and holds two Masters Degrees: one in Educational Media and Design Technology and one in Literacy Education. She has taught arts and crafts in many after-school and summer programs from Michigan to Maine. 
Sara Myrick teaches K-12 art full-time in the Eastport schools, and has led many workshops at the EAC. She is also owner of Coastal Whims, a home-based art business celebrating her love of nature and handcrafting.
Funding for these offerings has been provided by Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation. Donations will be gratefully accepted as well—either in the coffee can provided at materials pickup or via the EAC’s website. Participants are encouraged to send photos of their projects to Alison via the email address above.
