Vittoria Chierici: The Colors of Eastport

Friday, September 1 @ 10:00 am 8:00 pm

An exhibition of works by Vittoria Chierici will be on view in Eastport Arts Center’s mezzanine space (upstairs lobby) through September 3. The exhibition will be viewable during EAC events, or by chance or appointment; email wsg@eastportartscenter.org to inquire about viewing the show.
Vittoria Chierici’s work has been exhibited all around the world. She is currently represented by the Gallery Rossi & Rossi based in London and Hong Kong where in 2021 Chierici had a solo show of her project The Philosophers’ Clothes. The same year, the project was exhibited at the Art Basel in Hong Kong and in 2022 at TEFAF, the art fair in Maastricht, Holland.
In Eastport, an ongoing project with the name The Colors of Eastport has been presented with sails displayed during the Eastport ArtWalk in June 2023. The project was created by painting on boat sails after studying the change of light and colors of the ocean. In the show at EAC, there will be two works on the sail fabric, dacron, and new works on canvas painted with a different technique.
Special thanks are extended to the Eastport ArtWalk, the Maine Arts Commission and the Maine Community Foundation Arts Expansion program for financial support of the Colors of Eastport project.
Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport, and at www.eastportartscenter.org, and is handicapped-accessible. EAC abides by the State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines, revisiting our policy monthly. At this time, the use of masks in our building is optional.
