The weekly Life Drawing Workshop at Eastport Arts Center will resume on January 18, 2017, with a session each Wednesday from 7-9 pm for those interested in working from the figure. Participants in the two hour workshop will approach drawing the figure through a series of short exercises that lead to an hour long study, using the drawing medium of their choice. Learning to draw the figure has long been the foundation of learning how to draw. Through history it has been both an academic exercise and a demonstration of mastery. The Arts Center’s emphasis is to offer a learning experience for beginners and, for more experienced artists, an opportunity to hone their drawing skills. Instruction is offered when requested.
No prior experience is necessary. Participants may either pay $12 per session on a drop-in basis or just $40 for four sessions (preregistered). The group is also seeking models, who will be paid $40 for each 2-hour session, and given an introduction if they are new to modeling.
Inquiries about participation, either as an artist or a model, may be made to Joyce Weber at email@example.com or (207) 853-2358. The Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport, and http://www.eastportartscenter.org and is handicapped-accessible.
