Life Drawing Workshop with Anne Shields Hopkins
Eastport Arts Center’s weekly Life Drawing Workshop will resume Wednesday, September 18 at 7 pm, and will meet weekly from 7-9 pm Wednesdays through November 6. The group, which will work from a live model, will be led by Anne Shields Hopkins, a frequent participant in past sessions of the workshop. Tiny Yogis sessions led by Caroline DiLio will resume for an 8-week session beginning September 19; the program, which is part of EAC's KinderArts offerings, is intended for children up to age 5. All Eastern European countries have at least some tradition of music and dance, usually celebrated by a Sunday Afternoon “Hora” (or dance) in the town square. Frida Friday: Sip ‘n’ Paint Symbolic Portraits
Frida Friday, a sip ’n’ paint event, will be offered from 6-9 pm, Friday, October 18, at Eastport Arts Center. Local artist barbara toothpick will present One-Woman Show With Alan on Friday, October 25 at 7 pm, and Saturday, October 26 at 3 pm, at Eastport Arts Center. Featuring 17 costume changes, three life-sized effigies, original music and paintings, toothpick’s show depicts her quest for what she can trust in an ever-changing world. Halloween Houses: a Children’s Workshop with Sara Myrick
Eastport Arts Center will present Halloween Houses, a children’s workshop with Sara Myrick, on Saturday, October 26 from 10:30 am-12:30 pm. Using a variety of upcycled materials, which is a passion of instructor Myrick, participants will be able to craft their own house and grounds, decorated as they choose—spooky or just autumnal.
