All Eastern European countries have at least some tradition of music and dance, usually celebrated by a Sunday Afternoon "Hora" (or dance) in the town square. Come learn these dances to exciting Greek, Romanian, Bulgarian and Israeli music. Everyone, including beginners, is welcome to come and explore this great tradition. By donation. Eastport Arts Center will feature Sara Grey and Brian Miller with a concert, Irish Songs from the Logging Camps of Maine, on Tuesday, April 24 at 7 pm. Grey and Miller’s program consists of tunes which have migrated to Northern New England, New Brunswick, Ontario, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Ecstatic Dance is returning to the Eastport Arts Center to every Wednesday from 5-6 pm, starting January 3. All are invited to come and dance to great rhythmic music and move however they wish (there will be no instruction); the group’s motto will be: “dance to release stress, and not to impress.” Attendees should wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring water to drink. The Eastport Arts Center’s KinderArts program will feature Tiny Yogis sessions on Thursdays, April 26 through May 10, from 9:30-10:15 am. Instructor Caroline Coleman Dilio will teach yoga through music, dance and storybooks, and young participants will even learn meditation. Painting with Wool: A Felting Workshop with Audra Christie

Eastport Arts Center will offer a felting workshop with Audra Christie on Sunday, May 6, from 12:30-4:30 pm. One of the oldest fiber crafts, felting is a process by which objects are made with wool fibers. There are two types: needle felting (a dry process) and wet felting.
