Eastport Arts Center’s Children's Theater Workshop (CTW) will begin its winter session on January 26. The group will meet Saturdays from 10-11:30 am for 8 weeks, and will conclude with a public presentation on March 23. This season, the group will be working on theater craft and having fun; Chris Grannis and Susan Coopersmith will get the ball rolling for the group this month. First call for auditions for EAC/NEA production Zawadi: A Hip Hopera, will be held on Saturday, March 23, noon to 1 pm. We are looking for actors, singers, and dancers ages 6-20. No experience necessary. World premiere performance of Zawadi is planned for June 8, 2019 at EAC. Written and directed by Susan Coopersmith, Zawadi is based on Coopersmith's decades working with street children and youth in Kenya and Tanzania.
