With great regret, the Eastport Arts Center (EAC) board of directors announces the July 2nd resignation of its executive director, Meg Colbert of Eastport. Colbert was selected for the executive director’s position after a nationwide search and has led the EAC staff since November, 2022 when the positions of director and development director were combined into one administrative executive director position. She has been instrumental in writing grants, streamlining operational processes and directing improvements to the facility including licensing the EAC commercial kitchen.
Colbert’s letter of resignation states that she has decided after careful consideration to explore new opportunities and challenges. Board president Catherine Adelman states, “I have enjoyed working in partnership with Meg during her tenure at EAC. We are pleased that Meg is continuing to help with administrative tasks until the transition to a new administrative structure is complete. In addition to her wealth of organizational management skills and experience, Meg was instrumental in expanding EAC’s educational outreach. During her tenure as ED the Kinder Arts program was expanded to other locations in Washington County. She initiated a Sketchbook project between EAC and area schools and coordinated a partnership between the Shead High School Theater Club and EAC.”
The EAC board is eager to move forward in bringing the arts to Downeast communities. Having reviewed administrative, programming, and development structures, EAC is currently accepting applicants for a new General Manager position at the center.
