Eastport Arts Center’s summer concerts continue Friday, July 19 at 7 pm, when guitarist and composer Aaron Larget-Caplan will present music of Bach, Gershwin, Spanish composers, and the Eastport premiere of ‘Heretic’ a micro-opera for guitarist that delves into the not-so-right mind of an artist. Pre-concert (6:15 pm) and post-concert receptions will offer a chance for attendees to gather casually before and after the performance.
Next up on Friday, July 26 at 7 pm, is Castlebay, a duo featuring poignant ballads sung in Julia Lane's ethereal soprano and Fred Gosbee's rich baritone, interspersed with joyous dance tunes played on Celtic harp, guitar, fiddle and tin whistle in a a musical journey through time and across the Atlantic.
Right around the corner in August are singer/songwriter Travis Cyr on August 2; pianist Danny Holt on August 9; violist Anne Black and friends on August 23 and the annual Young Persons’ Concert on August 30.
Concert tickets are $15, and attendees 17 and under will be admitted free of charge. If money is an obstacle, ticket fee will be happily waived. Tickets are available here—https://www.eastportartscenter.org/tickets—or at the door.
