Ecstatic Dance has resumed weekly meetings at Eastport Arts Center. All are invited to come and dance to great rhythmic music and move however they wish on Tuesdays from 5-6 pm, weather permitting. The Eastport Arts Center will resume its Life Drawing Workshop on January 16. The group will meet each Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the first floor of the Arts Center. Participants in the two hour weekly workshop will approach drawing the figure through a series of short exercises that lead to an hour long study, using the drawing medium of their choice. Learning to draw the figure has long been the foundation of learning how to draw. The Eastport Arts Center’s KinderArts program’s popular Tiny Yogis sessions will continue, running weekly on Thursdays from 9:30-10:15 am, starting January 3. Instructor Caroline DiLio will teach yoga through music, dance and storybooks, and young participants will even learn meditation. Owner of Maine Moon Kids Yoga, DiLio is a certified children’s yoga teacher and a mother of three. Eastport Arts Center will offer a Mosaic Workshop with Lisa Marquis-Bradbury on Saturday, January 26, from 12:30-4:30 pm. Participants will learn glass-cutting techniques to create a 7-inch-square mosaic, using stained glass and broken pottery to create an image of their choice. Bradbury will help participants to simplify their design ideas for the mosaic form, or for those who want them will offer templates, including images of birds, bees, dragonflies and butterflies.
