Each year, during the graduation ceremonies at area high schools, Eastport Arts Center honors seniors who have excelled in music, theater or the visual arts. Nominated by their teachers, the students have been chosen based on their outstanding commitment and contribution to the fine arts in their school and community.
Calais High School honorees included Haley Ann Way for drama and music and Elizabeth Trainor for visual art. Shead High School honorees were Rebecca Crabtree for drama, Maleeka Barnes for music and Richard McCoy for visual art. Washington Academy honorees were Daniel Runnels for music and Vivian Noakes for visual art.
